The Easiest Way to Remove Stains from Your Clothes

Dropped that sauce on your white shirt? Did your child play and get mud on their uniform?

We love our favorite outfits but there are times when we tend to mess them up. Though you are careful, unfortunately, you tend to spill wine on your dress. These stains can seem tough but actually are not, especially when you tackle them in the right way. Of course, you can always type “dry cleaning services near me” and look for a laundry service in Qatar, but if you want to get rid of those unwanted spots here are some tips and tricks to get rid of those fabric stains easily.

Bear in mind that it won’t work every single time and there are times when only a laundry service can help. But the key is to try the tactic first. Here are 5 ways to remove a red wine stain from your clothes.

  1. Salt

If you stain your carpet with red wine, make sure to blot it immediately using a paper towel. Now cover the stain with salt till you can’t see the red wine stain anymore. Let the salt for a few minutes and then dry. As the salt dries, it will absorb the stain. Then, vacuum everything up.

  1. Dishwashing detergent with Hydrogen Peroxide

Combine an equal proportion of dishwashing detergent and hydrogen peroxide. Pour this mix on the wine stain and let it soak in. You will notice that stain is fading out almost immediately. Once you allow the mixture to soak the stain, laundry the clothing as usual. Note that hydrogen peroxide can bleach clothes so this means it will work well on light-colored clothes.

  1. Boiling water

While you set the water for boiling, use a glass bowl and keep it near the kitchen sink. Now stretch the fabric area that has a stain on it over the bowl and secure it using a rubber band. Once the water boils, pour it from a height of a foot above the stain straight onto the stained fabric. This will wash away the red wine stain.

  1. White Vinegar and Laundry Detergent (Great for clothes)

Apply White vinegar over the stain to remove the red and purple stains. Apply liquid detergent right away after using the vinegar, then wash in hot water. You will notice the stain fading away.

  1. Bleach (Best for white fabrics only)

Although bleach is your best option for removing wine from white garments, we don’t advise using it for all wine stains. Just give the garment a ten-minute bleach soak before washing it in hot water. The stain will disappear.

  1. Baking soda and water

Baking soda works just as well as salt at absorbing and removing red wine stains. After blotting the area, liberally apply a paste made of baking soda and a few drops of water (make sure it is a smooth paste and not runny). Allow the paste to finish drying on a carpet before vacuuming it up. Allow the paste to thoroughly dry on clothing before washing it in hot water.
